It pours a clear light amber with little head retention. The flavor closely resembles the aroma, a clean if nondescript malt-forward blend. Lack of carbonation detracts from the palate. This is probably the best-balanced beer Red Hook currently produces, which no longer says much. MrRoss (617), Delta, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Had this one with breakfast (well, it WAS an 11:30 breakfast). The body was a nice, rich copper colour underneath an underwhelming thinnish white head. Aroma was better, with some nice hops and malt, but not strongly so. Taste was like the nose, and both mouthfeel and finish were refreshing. Worst thing was that it was served far colder than necessary, and I think this was detrimental to my enjoyment of this beer. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 2, 2009 Draft at Craft. Hazy dark straw/copper pour with nose of caramel malt, mild hops, fruit. Tastes of bready caramel malt, not terribly complex, with some fruity and mild hops, but not much palate heft. Meh. DerBiermeister (524), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 1/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2009 Smells floral / fruity. Appearance is cloudy and reddish orange. Fascinating flavour and a sweet finish with a well-balanced palate. Surprisingly good. Probably RedHook’s best offering, in my opinion. wcampbell (582), Central, South Carolina, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jun 23, 2009 Super boring amber. Some grassy pilsener flavor and very mild malts. Watery flavor and finish. Mild sweetness throughout. Reasonably drinkable, but not good. garthicus (1309), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma: Malt, grain, grass and plastic. Flavour: Cream, grass, malt, toffee. Meh. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Bottle (12oz). Shared by garthicus with me and blankboy. Clear bright gold, smallish white head. Tangy, slightly harsh, sweet - apricot? Taste - same, cereal, generic bitterness, slight fake fruit - wtf? Slick, sort of lively, harsh building aftertaste. Not too good. Vertical Bacon Strips (903), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Poured out a decent sized white foamy head that fades quickly. Leaves minor spotty lacing. A good swirl does bring back some cap though. Light copper in colour. The aroma pleasant but mild with a nice mix of caramel / biscuit and light hops and an airy fruitiness. As for the taste I will say that I am not a fan of this hop / malt mix. It is on the watery side for sure. For a softly flavoured beer the bitterness of the hops doesn’t go well with the malts....and being watered down doesn’t help. I’m not saying that this beer tastes gross as it is very easy to drink but it’s not something that appeals to me. Light bodied and a touch too gassy. Smooth brew with a decent malty middle and lengthy but soft bitter finish.
