On tap. Pours an amber color with a short-lasting white head. Very clean, nearly non-existant, malt aroma. Sweet malt and caramel taste, but thin with little hop bitterness. Not offensive, but not impressive either.

bottle-ya know, i thought this was a fairly decent session ale. I think these last two new redhook seasonals were pretty decent (the fall one was a bit better though however). pours bright orange with a sudsy whispy whiteh ad and aggressive carbonation emitting from the glass bottom. quite a bit of hops on the nose-spicy, grain husks but pleasant. nice balance here of hops and malts-spicy hops meld pretty well with the toasted grain base, even though its a little on the astringent grainy side. Overall, im pretty impressed. Would make a great session beer at a party for shure!

Smells of malty sweetness up front which moves over for citrus notes. Slight hoppiness at the very end of the nose. Light golden color, unimpressive head with no endurance. Pleasant malty taste up front offers appropriate balance to the citrus undertones. Just noticeable hoppiness finishes this nice spring ale. Crisp mouthfeel with little lingering aftertaste. Overall, an average brew but very enjoyable on a mild spring day.

This is the second "amber" I’ve reviewed this week that was nowhere close to amber in color. Its a stupid category anyways...so why not. This is lighter than a pale ale. Just a hint of floral aroma. Not unpleasant but lacking. Watery mouthfeel. Boring flavor, hints towards the malt side. An unremarkable beer.

An amber ale eh???? I pegged this as a Vienna as it was really clean tasting and light. aroma was slightly or biscuity malt and with no real hop presence. flavor was clean and crisp with some maltieness into the finish. crisp thin palate. not a good amber ale at all.

12oz Bottled 011707. Pours a clear golden with a 1/2 finger quickly fading offwhite head. The palest amber I’ve seen, but I suppose it’s a very light amber if you want to get down to it. Aroma of golden brown biscuits, citrus, grain, and a bit of grass. Flavor is a little more citrusy with the same biscuity malts. Finishes with a dirt powdered sugar thing--though not really sweet. Semidry finish with only a hint of bitterness at best. Low to moderate carbonation and a light body. I suppose this could be a somewhat flavorful lawnmower beer, but if you peg it for anything else, you shall be disappointed.

Clear golden color with minimal lacing head. Light malt aroma, with a hint of bitterness. Some citrus as well. Dry taste. Possibly dry hopping. Some maltiness and a hint of caramel. Nothing spectacular, but a decent beer.
