A little bit of toasted bread, mild citrus hops and a hint of pine. Drinkable and dull. Oh well, it’s still beer and a day without beer is like a day without beer. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 20, 2007 The aroma is extremely muted with some faint maltiness and an odd dose of diacetyl that reminds me of Shipyard’s beers. The body is a rusty amber with a diminishing off white head that clings to the glass nicely. Fore is again very muted, but steeped sweet malt, toasty grains and bread make a play. The finish is even sweeter and has a dryness to it. Not a bad sipper, but not something you should pay more than a $1.20 a bottle for. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 19, 2007 Amber colored pour with a creamy and lasting white head. Sweet malt and caramel aroma. Soapy with some bread and grassy hops. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel but it definitely strikes me as more of a pils. It’s pretty good, I guess. So-so. vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 18, 2007 Pours clear yellow (certainly not copper with a short lasting patchy white head. The aroma has musty malt, light husk and a bit of soap. Medium body that is lightly slick with some sharp stinging carbonation. The taste starts with spicy hops, grassiness, light soap and aq medicinal quality. The finish has more of a spicy sharpness and then finishes clean with maybe a hint of household cleaner. This struck me as a cross between an amber ale and a pilsener. Okay beer, could be an adequate lawnmower beer, but there are still better out there for that job. Light earthy aroma with a bit of malt in the nose. Flavor also has a light maltness and a bit bready. Smooth. Overall decent, nothing too special, good session. michael-pollack (2685), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 15, 2007 12oz. Bottle: Aroma is malty and yeasty. Earthy scent. Poured amber in color with a small, rocky, white head that diminished quickly. Looks thin and watery. Clear and lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet though neither bitter nor sour. Tastes like raw dough. Malty flavor has a little yeast but no hops I can taste. Absolutely no "distinctive citrus flavor." Light body. Thin. Average carbonation. Long malty finish. Overall, first and last time I will have this one.
