| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 13, 2007 on tap at The Barking Dog in Bethesda, MD. really quite excellent. i had just tasted the Hook & Ladder Ale which is supposed to be comparable and hated it so the bar tender suggested I try this. smooth, soft buttery mouthfeel. subtle flavors. well carbonated. clear light amber body, sticky lace head. smells sweet and lightly fruity and lightly hoppy. overall just fresh. tastes real light. citrus hops, caramel malts. refreshing, soft - just a really nice, sipping, light summer beer. I really really enjoyed this one and so did my date (if you need a guy’s word to believe it). we both would def have had another one if we didn’t move on to a different bar. rampmaster (322), Alden, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2009 Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz into a pint glass. The bottle had a born on date of 01-12-09. It was sampled on 5-31-09.
Appearance: The body has a dark golden almost coppery color with good clarity. On top an aggressive pour produced a tall foamy white head. It has good retention and makes some sticky lacing on the glass.
Smell: There is a sweet candy like malts with notes of brown sugar and some herbal hops of in the distance.
Taste/Mouth: It has a candy like character with hints of caramel, brown sugar and white bread. Hop bitterness is mild and adds some spicy/herbal notes to the mix. The hops come out a little more towards the finish and give some more balance to the sweet malt up front. It has a medium body, soft carbonation and a smooth texture.
Notes: This was a nice interesting and enjoyable beer.

Very fine carbonation, which makes this spring ale a highly drinkable, crisp beer. Actually my new favorite of the Redhook Brewery. A little sweet, like nectar, and overall very light and refreshing. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 17, 2003 I bought this in bottle ( six pack) didn't last long as this is a very drinkable beer, the taste is very good , almost fruity..but with unfiltered yeast its almost like a hefe-weisen though I know its isn,t.
If you can find it anywere outside Oregon go ahead and buy it a very nice "session" beer.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 31, 2007 Crystal clear light amber body topped by a nicely dense and stick lacing white head. Pleasing sweet and fruity aroma. Lightly hoppy. The flavor is pretty nice too, light caramel malt and citrus hops. Nice hoppy bite. Medium light body very crisp and refreshing. Not sure why this beer was released in January! It would make a really nice summer quaffer. kimcgolf (835), Dacula, Georgia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Had on tap at Beef O’Brady’s. Poured to a bright copper color with a thick white head that lingered thru most of the glass and left very good lacing. Mouthfeel of this full-bodied beer was a pleasant blend of hops and malts, and the flavor, while not real descript, was tasty. This all led to a long pleasant finish.
One of the best Ambers I’ve had. rich42 (128), USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 2, 2002 This beer has a unique flavor from most ambers - hard to put my finger on it - maybe a little bit of a roasted note?
Nice medium body - moderately hopped. Very, very easy to drink. Only seen it on tap so far.
Much more character than redhooks ESB - it’s nice to see they haven’t stagnated since becoming more comercial.
Good beer!
