The aroma is coffee, high quality chocolate, and perhaps some lactic notes. The flavor is very roasted with some chocolate leaning towards the darker side, some lactic and sour hints, peat perhaps, and kind of an over the top coffee bitterness that does not add but rather detracts from an otherwise decent effort. Overall, could be better, but works OK. Hangover (771), Atlanta, USA

Full bodied with medium carbonation. Coffee and chocolate flavor as well, which contributes to a lot of bitterness. Light citrus hop presence. Somewhat sweet. I almost wish it was a bit sweeter to even out the roasty bitterness from all the coffee. Good enough brew though. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA

Delicious semi-sweet chocolate flavor, lots of coffee, just the right touch of smokiness. Well-balanced finish. Excellent stout. BuckeyeBoy (1689), Boise, Idaho, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 6, 2008 Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is of roasted malt, coffee, artificial chocolate, and vanilla. Taste is bitter strong coffee, roasted malt, chocolate, vanilla, and some nut. Thick, creamy mouthfeel that goes down easy. Aside from the bitter coffe bite, the flavors are very weak for the first few sips. Eventually the coffee subsides, and all the other flavors come through. Drinkable, but not one of the best.

Poured a deep dark brown in color with a small tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Not much for flavor other than coffee taste. Slighlty creamy. Very dry finish. This was without a doubt a good beer but I really expected more even though it is from Redhook.
