One of the finest microbrews ever allowed for mere mortals. If only any other stout could match the perfection. The multiple colors of this fine stout boggles the mind like vintage 60’s LSD. Only stout that I’ve found that comes close to even teasing would be Rogue Shakespeare Stout. Drink up and trip out. Cybercat (823), Georgia, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 25, 2008 Aroma is quite strong and very inviting, like a fine coffee with hints of smoke and toffee, and just a touch of chocolate. Pours a rich opaque sable with a fairly thick dark tan head. Flavor does not disappoint, mouth-filling and surprisingly chocolaty, more like coffee mixed with cocoa than mocha. It has a good smoky overtone and hints of toffee and just a little bit of hop bitterness. It goes down smoothly and leaves a slightly sweet, chocolaty aftertaste. legion242 (1588), Richardson, Texas, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 26, 2001 The one drawback of this beer? It actually has the caffeine from the coffee still in it and it will wire your ass up if your not careful. The coffee flavors are very upfront, and the hops complement these bitter flavors very well. Taste is thick chocolate with sharp hints of coffee. Balance is perfect between the chocolate and coffee. I wish they still bottled this one.
