| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 29, 2009 Enjoyed via draft in a pub glass. The beer pours a nice medium copper color, with a small white head. The nose brings a strong floral character of English hops, perhaps Fuggles, or Goldings? A small amount of malt is detectable in the nose, but the hops seem to dominate. Hops are also the first thing the drinker notices on the palate, as there is a very assertive bitterness that remains through the entirety of the drink. Malt does make an appearance toward the end, almost as an afterthought. Overall, this is an enjoyable beer, if one that strays markedly from such benchmarks as Fullers ESB. highibus (435), Mill Creek, Washington, USA

Hoppy aroma. Some sharp bitterness. Mostly just bready malts; a pleasant beer overall. Elwood (677), Leesburg, Virginia, USA

It has a malty nose that I have a hard time picking anything up from. Some caramel notes, but that’s about it. Medium carbonation with a medium mouthfeel. A little breadiness to it. A bit on the sweet and malty side. There is also a bit of spicy hop note on the palate. Not quite as bitter as I was expecting. Medium finish with some lingering malt sweetness. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Not a bad beer for one bought from a gas station. The head was a huge, foamy white one and gave up some of the best lacing I’ve seen in quite a while. The rich amber colour had some cloudiness about it, and the aroma was VERY floral. The taste had some malt going on, but I’m not sure about the initial ’sharpness’.
