Amber colour, pretty low head. Light resiny aroma with toffee and citric hops. Buttery toffee flavour with low malt character with hints of caramel. Finish is medium bitter. Cajun (144), New Iberia, Louisiana, USA

Flavors of sweet malt, some caramel, dried grain, bitter hops finish. An average beer. Still, I’m not sure of the style qualification, but I’ll take RB’s word that its a premium bitter/esb. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Mar 28, 2007 Boring. Not an ESB nor definately not a premium bitter. Unremarkable. The best thing about this is the way it looks. truegen (165), Puyallup, Washington, USA

It was far better back in the early 80s. Love the deep amber color, but the hop profile is a little too citrusy, rather than the more floral taste you expect in an ESB. I still like it, but some of that could be nostalgia. bluesman42@gmailcom (43), Arkansas, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Aroma of sweet malt and small hops. An amber colored beer. Flavor was more malt, some hoppy acidity, and I guess it could be caramel. This was a lighter bodied ESB, and it was really easy to drink. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 15, 2007 On tap. Pours a copper color with a white head on top. Aroma is mostly hops with hints of malts in there as well. Flavor is more malty than I would expect, with some hops coming in. For the most part I found this beer a little too watery.
