Well, now, this will no longer be a problem. Clear gold with a quickly diminishing head. Light citrusy hop aroma. The taste is trying hard to be like its NW IPA brothers and sisters, and yet, fails. It isn’t that the beer is bad or undrinkable (although it does lack structure), it is just that it is closer in resemblance to a pale ale, not an IPA. So, ok, but not the kind of IPA I’m looking for when my taste buds are screaming "Hops please!" CelticBrew (707), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA

Aroma of hops, fruit and flowers. Flavor of strong hops, malt and a bit of barley or some other grains. Flavor isnt quit up to par with the other IPA’s like Dog Fishhead, or Pyramids Thunderhead. I geuss a decent IPA, but not in the same league as some other pale ales. nomar09 (4), USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2006 Excellent hoppy flavor and aroma. This beer has really grown on me, it is one of my 5 favorites. catamount (2), USA does not count | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 30, 2006 The hops come through strong as they should. Nice color and leave a good hop aftertaste. scanman (146), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2006 Nice balance of malt and hops ... a fun IPA. The nose is real strong while flavor is not overpowered by the floral finish. A very refreshing ale ... well worth the money. Good carbonation, too. kenb (1100), Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2006 Updated: Oct 21, 200712 oz bottle via Roth’s. Pours an almost clear copper with an average size BUBBLY head. Aroma is mild with some subtle malts and laid back floral hops. Tastes pretty mellow for an IPA. This is more like a nice amber Ale. Starts out with some sweet caramel maltiness then some orange hoppy flavors and finishes with a smooth balanced bittersweet light yumminess. Light bodied, high carbonation. a bit watery. I am surprised by this, i figured it would be a sucky ipa from what i had heard from others, but is actually a good refreshing summer/fall beer in my opinion. Just not an IPA, lol.... theisti (1685), Leawood, Kansas, USA

This was the Seattle beer versus the Pittsburgh beer (Iron City). Needless to say, the beer battle went the opposite direction of the football game. Hops, malt, standard IPA.
