Poured a lighter yellow color with a small head. Floral aroma. A bit thin on the palate. Typical citrusy IPA flavor was a bit on the weak side. This was a pretty average IPA

This was my virgin IPA on tap at RFK. Smelled wonderful. Much better than the Miller Lites I had. Hoppy and chocolate? Fruity? I just know it was good, and led me on to this web site looking at new brews. Since then I’ve tried many others, but the Redhook is a good light flavored IPA.

12 oz bottle. Orange colored body with white head. A nice aroma of citrus and some apricot. Flavor is very harmonic indeed, a nice distinct hoppy flavor with a pleasant malt sweetness. A smooth mouthfeel and an appropriate bitter aftertaste. Not an outstanding beer, but so enjoyable when your just in for a taste of a nice flavorful beer.

Bottle. Clear light orange. Aroma of pine and citrus. Flavor and palate on the wimpy side in terms of west coast IPA. PIne/citrus hop-caramel malt elements are there but don’t particularly grab your tongue like they should, and this one ends up as kind of a watery shadow of the style.

Redhook IPA 12 oz bottle Recent bottling, chuggalugged 09/06 Medium pour in a tulip glass Poured clear amber with a small creamy white mostly diminishing head with fair lacing. Smelt of moderate spruce and light toasted grain. Flavor was upfront moderate bitter sprucey hops and light acidic citrus followed by a light piney bitterness and a hint of sweet orange and bananas for a moderately long finish. Mouthfeel was light and watery with lively carbonation. Overall, it tastes like a good IPA, but offers nothing out of the ordinary.

Typical IPA, with a heavy hop aroma followed by a medium body and sharp hop bite. Body was a little light on this.
