Flavor is a big let down. Tastes like sour oranges, with a malt background. Ugh. CharlesDarwin (1860), Point Judith, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Aug 6, 2006 12 Oz Bottle. Pours amber copper with an off-color head. Spicy resin aroma, subdued. Flavor is a terse, vegetal bite of hops, with sweet grapefruit skins and light mixed mediterranean spices. Hops moves into a penny smack. Malt runs with a touch of caramel, but is somewhat weak. Overall, not a real winner, with too much acidity and hop unbalance. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA

Bitter taste, dry mouthfeel. Sorry I had not tried this earlier when the brewer was respectable and the ESB was a good beer a few years back. Naven (879), Poway, California, USA

I like this ale. Granted, it’s not made by Stone or Alesmith, and Redhook is officially a "big" brewery, but damn it, it’s good. This beer has a good nose, nice color, head, and the overall taste is pretty well balanced. A solid 3.5 beverage. For those of you that rate it 2.0 and below, I dont really know what you’re tasting, because I think it’s a nice IPA. TheOrange (419), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2006 The aroma on this beer is very promising. Nice and mellow with spicy hint to the hops. The beer is a nice golden with a thin head. The flavor did not live up to the aroma. The flavor was a straight - thinish - IPA. The hops were up front and the finish was clean, not as crisp as it should be. An ok ipa. SudsMcDuff (1707), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 24, 2006 Had this at a real garbage of shithole in Rice village with omar,tamsin,+stacey...looks good, aroma?..good solid bitterness thats not crazy, like the whore bartener that got me kicked out for not leaving a tip on my first beer..?...what a skank!...but the beer was good and crisp. asteele8 (270), Mukilteo, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 22, 2006 On tap at a Mariners game. Pretty much what you would expect out of a IPA. Poured an amber color with a decent white head that lasted quite a bit of time. Aroma was full of notes of pine, hops, and caramel. Flavors were smooth, hops were mellowed with a malty backbone. Fairly decent and enjoyable to drink at baseball games. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 20, 2006 It’s what is expected from an IPA. Nothing special here. If you want to taste what an IPA should be, try this on your palate. Hoppy tones (of course...) that don’t amount to anything except to an average IPA.
