| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 17, 2005 Nice aroma that is a good balance of malt and hops. Nice brassy color but small head. Taste is quite nice with a near perfect balance of bitter and sweet. Not as bitter as most IPA’s but I find that refreshing. Aftertaste is malty with a hint of bitterness. Nicely done. noattention (20), California, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jun 11, 2005 Bottle. Light gold with a small white head. Lightly hoppy and fruity aroma and taste. The bitter finish doesn’t make up for the overall weakness of this beer. jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 9, 2005 Pours amber with a one-finger head and little bubble action. Decent one-sided hop aroma of pine. Hops dominate the taste, along with an interesting tree bark flavor that lines the bottom of my mouth (which is the hops, so I repeat myself). Hop flavor reminds me of an English IPA--not as strong as some of the Americans I’ve tried. There are better IPAs out there, but it’ll do for a quick trip to Martin’s. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 6, 2005 Bottle. Golden with a thin, short lasting white head. Sweet grassy, herbal aroma, not too strong. Thin bodied, easy drinking citrusy flavored ale. Kind of like a light version of a west coast pale ale. Not the malt backbone or the hop bitterness of an American IPA. Should be called something else(stick with the Ballard Bitter). A pretty easy drinking summer beer that I like more than the Blonde or Sunrye. How do they get this over 6% ABV? paul9639 (116), New Hampshire, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 6, 2005 not that exciting. Dark amber. Faint hop aroma. Smooth flavor, but not enough bite for an IPA JoshuaB (427), Detroit, Michigan, USA

A golden color with minimal white head. Not much in the aroma, do sense some spicy herbals. Initially bitter, and then some slight citrus comes through to a clean finish. Medium body with a slick texture, all it is missing is some flavor.
