| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Copper color with a thin head. Slightly spicy hop aroma. The grain is a bit soured, but otherwise tastes like very fresh grain. Not sure how they managed that mix. Did not pick up any of the smoke or caramel they mentioned. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Bottle. Medium foamy head that quickly disappears. No aroma. Rich copper color that leads you to believe there will be a rich taste. The palate is stale hops paired with a slight metallic aftertaste. Fortunately it goes down smooth. Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber body with a thin, off-white head.
Smell: Fairly faint aroma of toasted grains with a bit of caramel and spice. Hint of apple.
Taste: Thin nutty malt flavor with the taste of crushed up saltines. Light sweetness. Spicy hop flavor. Slight metallic taste on the spicy, tart finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Certainly not one I’d repeat. Really falls short of other beers of the season.
