Very slight bite to it. Somewhat boring on the palate. Slightly bland. Very little flavor to it - reminds me of slightly bitter water. emobassfoo (178), Webster, New York, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Rated while drinking: Pours color 2 parts orange and 1 part red, with a chunky, but quickly dissipating, off-white head. Smells pretty standard for a beer... Sniff hard enough and you can smell some sort of sweet malt in there. Everything else seems real subtle. Flavor starts up front with something kind of astringent, but backpedals into more of those sweet malts I smelled. Second sip still yields something that feels and tastes wrong. Says it was bottled 8/6/07 though... Hm. Palate seems too carbonated and watery as well, but for the 5.7%, this slides down real quick. I’ll try another bottle later tonight and see if I still feel the same way. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 31, 2007 Darkish transluscent amber pour with a small tan head. Sweet, tart, malt smell that I can’t quite put my finger on. Perhaps a touch of some sort of spice. Taste is quite tart, a touch sweet, and has a decent body. Bitter-sweet tartness, maybe more accurately reflects the taste. Decent enough, but I probably won’t get excited about having it again. garrison (459), Cin. city, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 28, 2007 From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at the Western Hills "Krogers" in Cincinnati, Ohio - Pours a coppery liquid with a faint tan head and a very sligghty smoky aroma. Tastewide, it has some sligght carbonization of the malts, but this one doesn’t stand out as an Autumn Alr. jhliesen (406), West Melbourne, Florida, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Bottle-Shiny copper color with a small/medium head that lasted throughout the drink, plus there was a slight amount of lacing. Slight aroma of malts and some caramel. The taste was about the small, but with a wash of metallic taste. The finish is pretty rough and feels like the cooper penny mentioned earlier. Interested how both the spring ale and fall ale are amber ale, but with completely different tastes. Produce Place, single. nearbeer (1874), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Updated: Nov 30, 2008355 ml, bottled 07-25-07 (24 days old). It was 100F here yesterday, so this seasonal may have appeared a bit ahead of the short autumn days (see commercial description above). Clear copper with a small, but lasting head. Aroma is saltine cracker, with slight nutty malt and ash. Flavor is toasted bitterish nut and dry cracker with some pleasant sourish yeast and bitter herbs-lemon Saaz on the end and aftertaste. Palate is light-medium, slightly dry and tingly. dyetube (417), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2007 This beer pours an amber with a medium white head. Very malty aroma, almost kinda fruity. This is really not that bad of a beer if you ask me! No doubt I’ve had much better, but I would drink this again! Cheers! Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 31, 2007 Dark copper in body with a modest beige head, this has an aroma of caramel, apples, and an herbal bitterness. That pretty much describes the flavor as well. Not exciting, but sessionable.
