Commercial Description:
The newest Redhook Seasonal will appear just as the days of autumn get shorter and shorter. An east coast only brew, The Late Harvest Autumn Ale features a roasted, toasted malt aroma with the distinct flavors of Northern Brewer and Saaz Hops. Its rich complexity comes courtesy of its special malts: Crystal, German Smoked Munich, Caramel and Roasted

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at the Western Hills "Krogers" in Cincinnati, Ohio - Pours a coppery liquid with a faint tan head and a very sligghty smoky aroma. Tastewide, it has some sligght carbonization of the malts, but this one doesn’t stand out as an Autumn Alr.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (cookie, caramel, grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, apricot), with a light note of peach. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Reasonably pleasant (if simple) aroma, but marred by a somewhat dirty aftertaste (much as with Sam Adams beers). Ehh.

Slightly hazy dark copper ale, lovelly eggshell white head..kinda thick and chunky. Aromas are mainlly slightly toasted malts. The taste again is quite nicely toffee type maltiness, then semi sweet, earthy, a little hop near the end to balace the thing up..and i also get a touch of pleasing smoke at the back of the throat. Good smooth palte. Overall..I have to go against the grain and say this is a rather nice ,satisfying amber for the season.

Bottle from total wine. Crystal clear amber pour with a decent sized whitish head. Aroma is very malty with some hints of toast, crackers and grains. Flavor is pretty nice actually. Smooth and malty without being too malty. Hops are barely present. Better than I expected.

Not great. Not bad. Sweet aroma with a touch of toasted grain. Caramel and apple in the flavor with a spritzy finish. No hop to speak of. A little too spritzy for me.
