Commercial Description:
Everything great that was ever built required a long hammer. A trusty tool used by ordinary ordinary men to make extraordinary things. Transcontinental train tracks. Impossible pipelines. Soaring skyscraper. Long Hammer IPA puts this bold spirit in a bottle. And like its namesake, it's a beer built to stand the test of time.

Pours a very yellow color with medium head. Aroma of piney hops. Tastes of floral hops and slight flavor of pines and some citrus and malts. Very drinkable with a medium bitter finish but honestly more of a pale ale.

from bottle, poured to glass. nice head, some of which lingers like soap. good looking beer. very pleasant aroma, hops and tangerine. taste, sweet and fairly complex: hops, fruit (peach, plum, orange), slightly nutty and slightly caramel. a little "woodsy" like pine sap. strong taste for a second, then drops dramatically. somewhat bitter aftertaste, hoppy, nutty (particularly almond) and pine sap again. feels like soapy or oily water in the mouth. a little fizzy, nowhere near heavy. i like this beer, another good redhook product.

Cask at GBBF 08. Slightly hazy yellowish amber with a great nose of aromatic American hops and fruit salad. Simple, highly drinkable and very nice.

Bomber. Pours a clear gold with a soap scum white head and zero lacing. Nose is malt and sweet citrus. Taste is caramel, fruity juicyfruit gum and a mild bitter piney hop finish. Light to medium mouth feel. Doesn’t hold up well with the big gun IPAs, but it’s drinkable and sessionable at this ABV, which is what I think this was intended.

Cask at GBBF 08. Hazy gold, no head. Lovely hoppy aroma, some fruit salad in mouth. Nice to have some US hops at last. It’s somewhat peppery. Good tasty hops. Touch of syrup to the malts and a little too empty on the toffee malts, but fine.

Not a bad IPA nothing outstanding. Dry hoppiness with a decent duration. Clear amber/yellow body. Decent head with good lacing. Average at best.

This was a solid IPA. Definitely nothing special about it but it does the job I guess.
