This 12 pack was dropped down a flight of stairs en-route to my flat. Chip picked it during an ice slush storm while visiting. This is a light bodied, low hop, low malt IPA. Its designed to be a flagship style beer for session consumption. Its pretty basic and understated. Not a sipper. You could rip this right out of the bottle. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 13, 2008 12 oz. bottle from a sixpack from Jewel (New Lenox, IL). As far as IPAs go, this might not be a great example, but I thought this beer offered a lot in the way of a summer quencher that still had the hop presence that people here love. Pours a golden hue with hints of a darker color with a smallish white head that dissipates quickly. A largely floral nose that is a touch mild for an IPA. Initial is mostly empty of defining character up front, some hops maybe, that make way to a very pleasant back end with hoppy touches of citrus fruit and a bitterness presence on the roof of my mouth. No real malt presence comparable to other IPAs, but a refreshing finish that quenches. I’d say this beer is good and would definately buy again for its drinkability and it’s psuedo-IPA properties. Starter IPA, perhaps? hophead75 (1959), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 12, 2008 on tap at the celebrate Brooklyn concert-prospect park. Lightly hazy orange in color with a medium off white head. Aroma: faint floral hops with some clean caramel malt. Taste is subdued for an ipa- light pine and citrus with a light to moderate hop bitterness in the finish. Clean, but unassertive for an IPA. Indra (2029), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 10, 2008 12oz. bottle, purchased as a single. Aroma of grapefruit and pine, some grassy and herbal notes, along with some very faint malt sweetness. Slightly hazy light-medium golden color with a very slight head. Flavor is malty and honeyish with touches of citric grapefruit, lemongrass and unwelcome traces of Pine-Sol here and there, finishing dry with a light-moderate dose of bitterness. Palate is thin and effervescent, body is medium. Pretty much fit my expectations to a T. guyinchicago (528), marengo, Illinois, USA
