Commercial Description:
Everything great that was ever built required a long hammer. A trusty tool used by ordinary ordinary men to make extraordinary things. Transcontinental train tracks. Impossible pipelines. Soaring skyscraper. Long Hammer IPA puts this bold spirit in a bottle. And like its namesake, it's a beer built to stand the test of time.

Draft at Cataqua Public House. Pours clear light amber in color with white head. Aroma light citrus hops. Taste citrus hops and light malt with light bitter and clean finish. Good every day drinking IPA.

Clear amber color. Smell of hops, malt, citrus and flowers. Taste of hops, citrus, malt and grass. Very watery. Hardly no flavor.

Slightly hazy golden color with a large white head. Malty aroma with maybe a hidden citrus scent. Light body and lower carbonation. Some bitterness that indicates hops, but not a lot. A very subdued citrus hint in the flavor. A bit heavy in the thicke, short finish.

Decent color and head, but little aroma. But only a decent ipa. I won’t buy again, but it is not terrible.

I thought this was a very nice beer, more of an APA than an IPA and perhaps thats why it is marked down from where I expect its rating should be. Supposedly around 38.5 IBUs according to redhook’s site, which aligns with my taste notes. I thought this had a nice hop balance, not much malt, a bit more carbonation than I like, great taste and, as somebody said earlier, makes a nice session beer with its easy drinking style. I think I’ll get a flat of this. Again, its below IPA style guidelines for IBUs but is still a fine APA. This is MUCH better on tap.

Pours a yellowish light amber with an inch of frothy white head. Slightly sweet aroma with a lot of hops. Light, fizzy body with only a little sweet fruit taste before the mediocre hop finish. Leaves a light bitter that doesn’t really last. Decent session IPA.

Pours clear amber. Piney hops on the nose. The taste starts citrusy and finishes hoppy. Smooth. Not as hoppy as the top quality IPAs, but still enjoyable. Not as bad as its rated.
