Its not a hop bomb like i like. Flavor was decent maybe a bitter macro. better than bmc. Nothing special here. jmulv (86), Rensselaer, New York, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Sep 12, 2009 Had it on tap tonight in EG Bush. Pours a yellowy brown color, small white head. Taste is fairly bland, but a decent amount of hops and bitterness. Not as much hoppiness as I prefer in my IPAs, but it’s a fairly decent offering. I’d take it over a Bud any day. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Brassy color with just a bit of cloudyness. Nose is more malty than usual for an IPA. The malt hop balance leans more toward malt and away from hop than is typical for an IPA as well. The hops finally come through in the finish, which is plesent. A pretty good, easy to drink brew. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Updated: Oct 18, 2009On tap at Irish Kevin’s (Key West, FL): For an IPA, I’m pretty dissapointed. There’s no noticable hops on the aroma and the mouthfeel is too carbonated and overall kinda watered down. But maybe I’ve been drinking too many dipas. On the plus side, it’s mildly sweet with some slight hop notes in the finish. Drinkability: It’s o.k. Rebuy: I don’t think so. #109 on 05092009, DG. cexshun (70), Portage, Indiana, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2009 Pours a light orange with small foamy head. Citrus hop nose with yeast. Flavor of spicy hops. Strong, bitter finish. Somehow tastes a bit skunky, maybe old? Odd aftertaste. Thin body with heavy carbonation. Very unrefined beer. Rough around the edges and very amaturish. Potent grapefruit with some pine in the nose, drowning out some caramel. Clear dark gold with a lasting, white, thin cover and lace. Flavour is in line with the aroma: mostly grapefruit hops with a strong bitterness married to sweet, citrusy caramel. Sweet and slightly bitter finish, moderate carbonation, medium body. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 28, 2009 bottle. Pale amber color topped by a thin white head. Herbal hoppy aroma with the flavor leaning towards the more standard IPA. Some sweetness, some fruit and pine flavor. Bitter finish - this drink just isn’t refreshing. This or a Sierra Nevada?
