| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 8, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear light gold, pretty decent white head with little lace. Hoppy nose that is pine and spice based, but little else in the aroma. Clean, light mouthfeel, light to medium body and medium carbonation. Flavor is lightly bitter with a dry finish, but not much in the way of malt based flavors. Not a bad IPA as a thirst quencher, but not in the same league as the really great IPA’s HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Bottle (12oz). Clear bright gold with an amber tinge, smallish fizzy-frothy diminishing white head. Strong initial aroma of pine and orange zest, with a hint of pineapple and grapefruit, but that fades quickly to generic dry floral resin with characterless sweet malt backing. The taste - well it’s pretty underwhelming, sort of citronella with dry pinewood, quite stale and a little harsh. Watery body, astringent without any upside, a stinging harsh bitterness in the back-end that lingers a long time. My lasting impression is "cheaply made" bigtaster (184), Grand Rapids, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2008 Pours straw yellow with a hint of gold. Wispy white head. Light aroma of citrus and floral hops. Moderate hop flavor with a long finish. Light bodied. Very drinkable, lacking in flavor. RedSox2004 (357), Pacific Palisades, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Did a taste test of this against a Hop Ottin IPA, and the Long Hammer came up woefully short. Poured ok, with a full head, but pretty pale for an IPA. The aroma and flavor both had very little in terms of hops, considering the style. Just not a very inspiring beer, and I’m not likely to go for another. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Bottle, thanks to Uhre. A golden beer with a off-white head. The aroma and taste is of floral hops, grass and sweet malt. Medium body with a bitter dry finish. epf33 (222), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2008 bottled and on tap: misty golden brown color, full bodied, wouldn’t recommend drinking more than one, gets kinda old. marcus (1885), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2008 This orange ale poured with a decent off-white head and a floral hoppy aroma. There is a strong grassy hop flavor that leaves a bitter palate. A decent refreshing drink. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 18, 2008 On tap. Poured a clear golden with a fizzy white head. Somewhat faint aroma of piney hops and some butter toffee. Flavor follows with bitterness up front with tastes of grass and pine needles with a bit of alcohol and an earthy dusty taste. Leans towards a bitter finish that loses a bit of hop flavor. I wouldn’t call this deep or especially complex, but it did its job during the time I was drinking it.
