Commercial Description:
Everything great that was ever built required a long hammer. A trusty tool used by ordinary ordinary men to make extraordinary things. Transcontinental train tracks. Impossible pipelines. Soaring skyscraper. Long Hammer IPA puts this bold spirit in a bottle. And like its namesake, it's a beer built to stand the test of time.

It grew on me after the first sip, which was met with immediate revulsion. It’s a good attempt, but falls short. Like my wife said when she was in Providence, "they had this on tap, & Budweiser. I chose the Long Hammer."

This beer has a great floral hop aroma, but the finish has something to be desired. Otherwise, it is a mediocre West Coast IPA.

On tap at the Outriger Canoe Club. Nice and refreshing. Pours a deep clear gold with a white head with very good lacing. Flavor is a nice refreshing bitter IPA style bite.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a small yellow-white head. The aroma was sweet grapefruit and pine. The flavor is bitter and tart fruity hops with a off tasting malt base. Sour tangy finish. This one smelled nice but in no way lived up to the aroma.

Cask at GBBF 2007. An unclear golden beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, hops, and grapefruit, as well as light fruity esters. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of grapefruit, leading to a rather bitter and grassy finish.

This is a great IPA. Maybe not the greatest that money can buy, but great tasting and smooth quality with a strong hoppy flavor. I am not sure why this beer isn’t rated higher, but I’ll definitely be buying more of these if I can find them in the 6-packs (I got this one in a Redhook Sampler).

orange/copper color with debris floating in it with no head what so ever. the taste is a little malt with a rather light amount of hops for an ipa. i actually like this one because most ipa’s are stronger on the hops than i prefer.

Assertive bitterness without too much pine or citrus gettin in the way. I enjoyed this one and kinda with there were more of these diminutive malt IPAs in BC.
