Commercial Description:
Everything great that was ever built required a long hammer. A trusty tool used by ordinary ordinary men to make extraordinary things. Transcontinental train tracks. Impossible pipelines. Soaring skyscraper. Long Hammer IPA puts this bold spirit in a bottle. And like its namesake, it's a beer built to stand the test of time.

Grapefruit to golden yellow with a small thin white head. Moderate citrus aroma. So-so taste that is astringent and still very overcarbonated. For an IPA, not very drinkable. Expirey date was a couple of months ago, but it was sold to me past that date.

Poured a crystal clear amber/red with a rather full white head which hung around in pockets on the surface. Had a balanced hop aroma and good full pine forest tast. Just when you think there’s too much hop bitterness it backs off nicely at the finish. Thought it was a milder version of what you’d expect from a west coast IPA.

Fragrant tantalizing Cascade hop aroma, actually bolder then I expected from Redhook. Taste a pine tree was literally shoved into my mouth, malt backing can’t actually be tasted, but it has to be there, because the hops don’t overwhelm,a very satisfying bitter finish. I am stunned by this low score, sure its down one notch as far as intensity ,but for a hophead, its almost a perfect session brew

Smells hoppy with notes of burnt sugar. This golden pour tasted hoppy, bitter and metallic. It left a nasty dry metal flavor in my mouth.

Had this beer on 2/24/2007. Aroma is a fresh hop scent. Color is a bright gold with good carbonation and nice tight head. Taste is crisp and hoppy. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down with an easy crisp feel. Finish comes on with a mild malt flavor, a nice hop flavor and even hop bitterness. Overall Iits a nice hoppy Pale but not the best I have ever had.

hazy gold with small, white head. Mild fruity aroma - tastes a little stronger than it smells, but is still pretty lackluster for an IPA. I definitely prefer a Pale Ale with more flavor & punch, though I suppose this makes it a little more drinkable from a volume/endurance standpoint....

Rated 8/26/07. 12 oz. bottle courtesy of ’Naka. Golden Color and Floral hop nose. Malt start, bit of corn, then a small dose of hoppiness. No real after taste. Just blase. No repeats on this one

Smells lightly of citrus hops. Taste is weak citrus hops, like the smell. Not bad, but could be more flavorful.
