Commercial Description:
Everything great that was ever built required a long hammer. A trusty tool used by ordinary ordinary men to make extraordinary things. Transcontinental train tracks. Impossible pipelines. Soaring skyscraper. Long Hammer IPA puts this bold spirit in a bottle. And like its namesake, it's a beer built to stand the test of time.

Have had this a few times from a 12oz bottle into a glass. Smells very plant-like from the hops, but it’s still bitter and drinkable.

6-pack from my local grocery store. Pours a light shade of orange with a frothy white head. Smells and tastes of hops, citrus, cream, and flour. Simple, but balanced, and highly drinkable. Impressive in it’s averageness and accessibility.

Thanks Mark for bringing over a six-pack. Pours a light clear golden with a lingering white froth. Aroma is piney spicy hops with a big underlying caramel sweetness. The balance isn’t quite there and every time I have had this it has been a bit oxidized. Flavor starts with another big sweet kick that overwhelms the hops. Some light fruits give a little variation but pretty basic and bland IPA. Medium body and an active carbonation. Not horrible but just a little bland and boring.

12 oz. bottle pours a rich golden color with tight, dense white head which leaves little to no lacing as it dissipates. Aroma is of malt and sugar - almost a cotton-candy like sweetness. Front palate is floral like honeysuckle, with a mid palate of yeast followed up by hoppy goodness and a finish of sweet fruit - pineapple, maybe? A much more interesting beer than I expected, but without the hops that I anticipated given that it’s an IPA. This would be easy to pair with any number of items and would be especially nice with a grilled teriyaki glazed pineapple chicken and arborrio rice with roasted pinenuts.

Kind of a flat and thin beer. Strong flavor. Golden in color. Somewhat sweet. Strong aroma.

Orange pour with creamy white head and lace. Light malt and a hint of paper on the nose. Semi sweet malt with a flat off bitter finish. Foamy and thin.

A: Poured with a spare, white head, and no lacing. Body is clear, flat, and a dark golden color. Some carbonation, but not much. Quite unimpressive. S: Very weak for an IPA... I smell a little hops and maybe some orange as well, but it doesn’t exactly jump out and grab you. Feeling a little bit wary, now... T: Again, weak. Lightly sweet at first, and finishes lightly bitter with the hops. Where is the flavor, the punch? Disappointing. M: Nothing special here, either. Body is light and thin-textured, with soft-to-average carbonation. D: Sure, you can drink it... it goes down easy. But it doesn’t have a whole lot in taste or anything else, either. As drinkable as water is not something I’m looking for in a beer, let alone an IPA. More of an IPA experience than, say, Alexander Keith’s... but not much.
