I’m having a hard time understand some of these lower ratings. A decent ipa with a mellow aroma and taste. Not over hopped, nor overly malty. It is a good example of a basic ipa. Magicdave6 (5548), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: Excellent balance, lychee, grapefruit, a solid IPA, excellent hop character and super dirnkable. Im monumentally suprized by a score this low, perhaps the bottles are pasturised? Perfect hoppy aroma, with a dark gold color and complex hoppy, bitter, and somewhat sweet flavor. Soft Slightly above average palate. I like it. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 22, 2007 Thanks to Bob, Michelle, and mostly my baby Jana for the 12th annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival today! On tap @ the fest. Nose of flowers & perfume, pine & citrus, and resin. The brew is a sparkling pale gold. The mostly lasting tall creamy white head leaves good lace. The beer has good balance and nice depth with high acidity. The medium creamy body is lively, the finish feels astringent. I’m glad I found this one. Veldy (42), Coon Rapids, Minnesota, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 22, 2008 I had this beer on tap and in the bottle. I must stay that the tap version was FAR better and that is what I am reviewing here.
Hop aroma was excellent; a nice combination of American "C" hops. Hop flavor was good. Not really bitter enough for an IPA, but that was made up for with aroma hops and some dryness to the mouthfeel. There was a hint of light to medium caramel, but the sweetness wasn’t strong.
I definitely recommend this on tap. I drank this at "Little Angies" in Duluth, MN (Canal Park).
If I could rate this beer twice, I would rate the bottled version quite a bit less [I found it in the same area in bottle and am drinking one now, but it is nowhere near what the tap version is.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2008 Pours clear with a dark yellow color. Foamy off-white head that dissipates quickly. Very floral, hoppy aroma. Crisp, clean pine-tree flavor. I generally don’t like IPA’s, but this one is good. A little on the sweet side, common with Redhooks brews. Clean palate, smooth. This beer is good enough that it may change my opinion of IPA’s.
