It was a very dark amber red and had a small quickly diminishing head. It had a slightly toasty taste. This is one of the best redhook beers I’ve had cathcacr (590), Portland, Oregon, USA

This one isn’t at the level of the King of Brown Ales, Rogue’s Hazelnut Nectar, but soft, mellow and pleasant all the same. Very inviting appearance, slightly musty aroma. Flavor certainly not pronounced. Partly watery and very little to speak of on the finish. On the whole: decent.

True it is not the most complex but I could hardly call it one dimensional. Great session beer and I always have it on hand around the house. beerandrugby (210), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Nice dark brown color and a thick ceamy white head with fairly good lacing. Thinner mouthfeel than I would like but the malt was toasty and nice slighty sweet but not at all overdone. The hops were strong enongh for balance. pretty good. Reminiscent of a hoppy Newcastle. DKlovesbeer (172), Sarasota, Florida, USA

I like the sweet, nutty character and the overall appearance very much. Pours dark, clear amber with modest carbonation and a big foamy, creamy, off white yeasty head. A little bit of lace here and there rounds out this beer’s fine appearance. Aroma is malty and sweet with notes of yeast and hops throughout. Smells fresh and crisp like most of the other Redhook ales. Has that nice homebrew quality in the aroma. Sometimes I feel like the whole brand is underrated. I mean, seriously, Redhook Brewery makes some delicious beers and they’re readily available. Anyway, the flavor? Not terribly complex but the toasted, nutty malt flavors are well described as being mellow. The hop signature? Yes, it’s soft. Overall, this beer is a bit bland, but none-the-less, highlights of yeast, wheat, and hops create a satisfying palate. This is a great session beer and a delightful late winter treat. timetrvlr (8), milford, Connecticut, USA does not count | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 27, 2005 decent beer with good head and easy palate with little aftertaste. kind of bland for my likes though
