Medium brown, rich head with a slight roasted aroma. Decent malty base with some roastiness with a very slight bit of hops.

Reddish brown body, small dense tan head receding quickly. Sweet malty flavor balanced with hops and a bit of smokey/roasty background. Tried it on tap at a seafood fest. Good with fried oysters.

Not normally a big fan of browns, or redhook for that matter, but I actually liked this one. Nice and malty, just a little sweet and nutty. Not a bad brown really.

Saw it on the shelf and had to get it. Very excited as I poured the copper colored beer into my beer glass. Overcome with mediocrity, I wondered what I had done...and why.

Pours a dark brown with a slightly tannish head. Nose isn't all that impressive. Lightly malted and just a hint of hops. Flavor is more malty, even a bit nutty. Small hops mixed in as well. A bit earthy. Thin palate and small body. Finishes fairly bland.

Clear dark amber/mahogany with a medium diminishing off white head. Sweet malt aroma with notes of honey, nut and toasted bread. Medium body, water texture with soft carbonation. Clean, would make a decent session beer. Mildly sweet flavor of hazelnut, caramel and a hint of bread.

Lately, I've notice that I've began a lot reviews of Browns Ale with "I normally don't like brown ale but..". Well, this is why I don't like ale. Looks OK in the galss, but there is no aroma, and its almost sickly sweet at first before all flavor disappears entirely. Watery, boring, insipid. Useless, even for an AB Redhook.
