Decent session ale. antisnobJP (275), St. Michael, Minnesota, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2004 Cola colored with similar head(as Coke, frothy and quickly fading).Bits of lacing all over the glass. Nice nutty, malty nose, like an unskunked Newcastle. Very light hops, low bitterness, good sweet malt flavor with some toffee and a tiny bit of chocolate roastiness in the background. Thin mouthfeel, extremely drinkable. I can't seem to stop. Nice clean, dry finish. Comparable to Newcastle, only much cheaper and will never be skunked, wich makes it a better choice in my book. blatz (138), Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Florida, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 25, 2004 Crystal clear ale. Color of a freshly-minted penny. Small, creamy, beige head.
Malty, nutty nose and flavor. Toffee, caramel and chocolate. Well-balanced, but a tad thin. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Short, clean, lightly bitter finish. Great session beer. 5000 (2634), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 16, 2004 Updated: Jan 29, 2004Bottle date 12/16/03. Pours a dark brown, with little head and little carbonation. Slight smell of the chocolate & roasted malts at first whif. Leaves a slight trace of lacing. Somewhat malty & chocolaty, but has a thin mouthfeel and is a bit watery. The "soft hop" signature seems almost undetectable. This is a very easy drinking non-offensive, middle of the road Brown Ale.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 12, 2004 very filtered, but very dark brown, ruby color. Thick head with light lacing. The aroma is light and mild, but still prominently malty and earthy. The hops aren't too present, but the caramel and specialty malts sure are. The flavor is lightly sweet and nutty. Straight forward nut-brown with more of a malty body and dry finish than most that I've had. Decent though for a subsedite Anheuser Busch company
