Bought a six pack of this at the local grocery..was thirsty after a hard day manual work and though a Nut Brown ale would go down just right and for under $5 this looked appetizing! Its actually not too bad a beer to look at, a nice amber /brown colour with a little carrbonation strings..a small head but a pretty one..light tan colour which dissapates to leave a goodly sized lace down my mug..nice. The smell though was a disapointment very feeble..but not offensive..average. Taste while not bad..is hardly exciting..plain malt taste dominates though at the end there is a "nuttiness"..nice bite of bitternes tooo but well masked till after I have swallowed.. Pretty good on the tongue..not too much carbonation..taste lingers on the back portion of the tongue for a good time. Actually though bland in some departments this is an excellent beer to have 5 or 6 of after 9 hours of physical work

A nice deep brown color that is not dark. However, this is still fairly thin. Nothing bad, but nothing too good either. An average beer from an average brewer. Thanks again AB.

The hardest thing to do sometimes is pour a beer in a glass and WAIT a bit for it to warm up a little before drinking it. Let this one sit a little! It has a nice deep brown color, not blackish or purplish like some browns I have been seeing lately. The malts DO strut their stuff here. Nice to see, as always. If you enjoy a good brownie like I do, this one is worth a try!

This is a good drinkable ale. Nothing that really jumps out though. Slight malt and nutty flavor...somewhat watery

Reminded me why nut brown ale is my favorite type of beer. This was excellent. Great color, nice head and aroma, great taste - sweet, but not too sweet. The last few nut brown's that I've tried haven't been all that great, but this definitely was.

Pours a deep brown with a hint of red. Slightly malted nose. Seems sweet. The taste is less appeasing. Malt body with virtually little hop character. Body seemed a little thin and uncomplex. Finishes with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Average beer. Nothing to rave about.

Leather brown body. Light tan head with some lacing.
Sweet, malty aroma.
Big malt taste but little hop bite. Simple.
Smooth body.
