| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 5, 2003 Lighter but malty aroma with hints of toffee and chocolate. Light-medium red-brown color, head fades completely away. Flavor has some light caramel sweetness and grainy maltiness combined with a lightly citrusy hop bitterness. Nutty, sweet and faintly musty finish. Light, watery consistency and fizzy on the palate. Hmm. Can't really recommend this one. Volgon (2489), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2003 Dark brown color. Medium head. Aroma is malty and slightly nutty. A lighter bodied brown ale. Malts are slightly roasted, nutty and somewhat sweet. Hops are mild, slightly bitter, and a touch citrusy. Taste is a little thin. It’s a VERY drinkable beer, but not really very interesting. That’s not meant to be a rip. It’s a nice beer, but it doesn’t really have any distinguishing character to it. Mouthfeel is a little thin. Finish is clean and dry. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. beerbumble (42), Reno, Nevada, USA
