(Bottle Arena’s Deli & Beach Bar, Rehoboth Beach, DE) Pours a clear nut brown body with a moderate tan head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor of sweet malt and smoked sausage.

Not bad. Fairly well-balanced. Slightly sweet, medium-brown color, off-white head. Nothing too exciting about the malt character, a little toasty.

Sampled from bottle. Pours clear, dark amber with a creamy off-white head and thick lacing. Aroma is bold with floral hops and hard candy. Sweet malt flavor also has some caramel and coffee. Some floral & spice hops also preasent. Medium-full body - quite full for the style - is moderately carbonated. Finished pretty clean with only a bit of hops lingering. An enjoyable beer - one that you could easily grab another one of when the first one is finished.

12 oz bottle at cellar temp. Pours with smallish light tan head leaving very little on the glass. Nice reddish-brown color. Hops and biscuit malt in the nose. Grassy hops and toasted and light caramel malt flavor with curious sweetness. Seems to be missing something but I can’t quite put my finger on it - maybe the balance is off but I do like it. A very nice brown though I think I’d take the Sam Adams brown over this if I had to choose. No where near Sam Smith’s though.

Poured from bottle into my favorite english pint glass. A cream colored head with moderate retention sits placidly on a slightly reddish-brown body. Clean grassy hops initiate the aroma, but quickly give way to nicely toasted malts. A well balanced flavor, with a residually sweet finish.

Pours a reddish-brown amber with white head. Aroma is of grains and malt with some nuttiness. Flavor follows aroma with some sweet undertones. Is it me or does Red Hook seem to always hover either slightly above or just slightly below the average mark?

draught. Dark red-brown pour with a white head. Aroma is malty and musty with a bit of cola. It goes down really light for this style, it’s not overwhelming in any direction. There is enough toasty sugar and almond notes to remind me that it is endeed a brown ale, but the finish is very thin and borderline vegetal.

Pours brown, thin. Pretty standard but yet tasty nut brown ale, malty, sweetness, light hops, good beer.
