| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Feb 23, 2006 Foamy khaki head that faded in like 2 seconds, see through brown body with a lot of bubble activity. Smells a bit smokey, with some sweet toasty grain and a slight hop kick. Taste has the toasty grain, nuts as the name implies, and a tea like hop presence with a lame sourness. Carbonation was low, and it felt like flat coke in the mouth. Mouthfeel was quite thin and left something to be desired. Drinkable, but I wouldnt buy it again. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Feb 23, 2006 Updated: Feb 25, 2006Aroma is sweet and cola tinged and even that is very low intensity. Dark brown body with reddish tinting holds a wispy pinky sized head. Fruity malt sweetness in the fore. Tastes very much like licking the frosting off a cheap 7’11 pastry. I’m not getting the nutty flavors that are supposed to be here just a sweet malty mildly yam tasting melange. I really want to like Redhook and I always buy their stupid seasonals, but they just always seem to mail it in with their beers. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 22, 2006 Deep mohogony color with a thin off-white head. Sweet malt aroma with hints of nuttiness. Light sour flavor with nuttiness in the foreground. badnewsbeers (1026), Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2006 Pours a dark brown color with little head. Thin platate with very little to offer. Wheaty belgian flavor with just a hint of nuttiness at the end. Very little hopiness and very little flavor overall. Not a very enjoyable beer. jde123 (715), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2006 A nice, mild yet flavorful beer. Once of those beers you can enjoy all on its own, in pairs, or more. Although I won’t get this one again, it isn’t THAT good, I did enjoy its character, kind of jovial yet subdued. tennisjoel (946), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Feb 15, 2006 Aroma was hard to detect. Always tougher in a bar environment (even though it was non smoking). I seem to have more trouble with aromas in a liter mug as well, but I still wanted to take advantage of the happy hour special, which was the liter size for the price of a pint. Some malt was detected. Light roasted flavor. Somewhat watered down flavor. A good crossover beer but this one doesn’t impress me. Similar to New Castle, Mich Amber Bock, or something along those lines.
