Slightly off brown head, with no real aroma unless you ’digdeep’. It leave virtualy no aftertaste, and is a little watery. But very smooth, and the buzz, like i stated, is great. nice and heady. A very rich amber color. Little to no distinguishable smell...but tastes absolutely great. Very smooth, with just a bare roasty hint of nuts. It doesn’t seem to have much of an aftertaste at all. Very light on the tongue. It’s supposed to be seasonal, but I can see myself drinking this year round. 2beerguys (299), North Shore, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 9, 2006 The Redhook Nut Brown Ale is a delightful Ale, pouring a light brown. Oddly for a Nut Brown, this beer does not have a very nutty presence. What it does have is a very smooth taste that finishes heavy. Perfect for those chilly early Spring mornings, err, I mean evenings. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 4, 2006 12oz bottle pours brown with a short tan head. Aroma is caramel and nuts and a bit of light grassy hops. Flavor is sweet, caramel, nuts, and a touch of brown sugar. Brief grassy hops on the finish. Palate is light airy and somewhat watery. Like most brown ales this was drinkable and average. TerryR (383), Oswego, Illinois, USA

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours a dark ruby/mahogany with thin beige head. The aroma is grass and grain with a touch of yeast and just a hint of nuts. The flavor is very smooth, with very mellow ashy hops, caramel, and barley. The finish is moderately sweet. Nothing to rave about, but a decent brew. sandygoonie (27), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 1, 2006 This beer in my opinion is redhooks best, their flaship. Very nuuty as the name says in the taste and aroma. Not too over the edge very nice and drinkable. Hops are subdued malt is evident, what anyone would expect in a nut brown. Good finish says have another morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
