I just can’t remember the name, and I haven’t seen it since. It had the most distintive flavor. Every time I drink a brown I hope it will be like the unnamed beer of memory. It never is. Anyway, lightly nutty and malty. Decent body. Weak finish. Eh, okay. Cletus (5060), Connecticut, USA

The aroma is caramel malty, with some toffee, cocoa, and fruit. The flavor is scottish aley, with some malty nuttiness, caramel, brown sugar, and finishing hops. Medium palate that seems to get more watery and less complex as it warms up. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 13, 2005 Pours a nice reddish brown. Aromas of toasty malts, brown sugar, and nuts. Flavor is lightly sweet malts and a nice touch of hops, and a nutty finish. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2005 (12 oz bottle) A decent flavor in this nut brown, but it’s totally lacking the depth and complexity of better nut browns. The chocolaty, toasty malt is slightly sweet, and the nutty flavor is pretty damn mild; I taste it more from the power of suggestion, and in a blind tasting, I don’t think I’d ever notice it. The bitterness is quite mild as well. Sweet and toasty malts in the nose. Body is medium, and the soft, easy palate is gently carbonated. Medium ruddy brown in color with a light tan head that pours to half an inch and settles to a wide ring while leaving only modest patchy lacing on the glass. Nothing great here, but probably one of the better Redhook offerings out there now that Double Black is double dead. awebster (165), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2005 Reddishbrown, thin. Head is toasted white. Aroma is fresh cut wood, pine, cedar, figs, clay. Pretty decent. Taste is sweet and decent, much like an amber except for a strong pit fruit presence and roasted malts. Actually pretty good, everything working nicely here together. Roasted flavors come through strongly at tail end and balance the palate awesomely. Some cashews and brazil nuts roam in aftertaste as well. Really suprised by this one...great job Redhook!
