StephenWade (28), Hoover, Alabama, USA Oct 3, 2006 Bottle. Honey smell with a tinge of alchohol, dark amber color, and a smooth, sweet, nutty taste with coffee undertones that finishes clean.
nqualls (633), Tennessee, USA Sep 17, 2008 Bottle. Poured a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of nuts and caramel malt. Flavor reflects the aroma. Body is too light. phishpond417 (1542), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 12, 2008 Pours a dark brown colour with a little tan head. Aroma is nutty with roasted almonds and soft honey. Lighter then what i would’ve enjoyed, taste has faint nutty characteristics and milk chocolate. As I recall, this wasn’t the nut brown flavor I was hoping for. Perhaps the nut brown is more of the hue of the brew. Flavors were that of an amber ale. Nothing unique. changeup45 (625), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 12, 2008 Pours a dark brown, amber tinted body with a moderate tanish head. Aroma is sweet with mild malts in there. Flavor is pretty sweet (but not overly sweet), with brown sugar an wood characteristics. Some malt lingers in the background. Often I find that some Brown Ales are way too sweet or quite bland and this was fortunately neither. Solid overall choice. Ron (789), Rochester, New York, USA Apr 4, 2008 Pours a ruby red color. Nice toasted malt caramel aroma. Flavor is quite malty. Some chocolate flavor in there as well. Enjoyable ale.
