| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 1/5 | 10/20 | Aug 26, 2009 Bottle. Light alcohol and light on taste. There is not much to this brew. Very watery, and flat tasting. There is no malt body and slight hop flavor. OVerall, not too much better than macro light brews. ghawener (963), San Salvador, El Salvador

The SCAW Pale Ale didn’t taste quite right at El Palomar, so I thought I would take a chance on this stuff. I’ve been getting into session beers lately, but this... The color is nice; clear gold with a medium, lasting white head with some tight lace. The aroma is basically just light mineral water and carbon dioxide. It’s never a good thing when the strongest aroma the bubbles are bringing out of the beer it fro themselves. The flavor is very faint mineral water and a limp cornflakes finish that it neither sweet nor bitter. Watery, but I won’t dock it too much for that because it’s under 4%. Overall, kinda misses out on tasting like a beer. I know that they were going for lightness, but hops don’t have any calories do they? This just needed something in it to avoid tasting like water. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 16, 2009 FCBF 09. Bottle. Pours clear gold with a white head. Sweet grainy malt aroma, rather light. Light flavor as well hints of grainy and sweet malts. No off flavors. A decent, easy drinking session ale. jb (1055), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 16, 2009 FCBF 09. This was portrayed as a light beer and in that category this excels. Malty, some graham crackers, some decent taste and body for a low cal beer. bubbleflubber (898), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 12, 2009 Pours clear golden into the glass with an initial head that diminishes to nothing, and sparse suds lace. The nose is of sweet corn and light malt. The flavors, very light, are of sour grains, hints at corn, and some biscuit malt. There is a grassy finish, with some residual biscuit dry-hopping. Unfortunately, all of these are underdone, as the mouthfeel is too seltzery and the body too thin. It’s ok to be a low-cal offering, but it’s only as good as what it is. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours slightly hazy light gold with a one finger white head with not much lacing to speak. The nose is grain, malt and light floral hops. The taste is biscuits, grain, sweet grass and very faint hops in the finish. Lighter, slightly prickly mouthfeel. Not that good. Slim Chance I’ll be buying it again. Ba da bum!
