Commercial Description:
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

Bottle. Looks like a light lager. Sweet and grassy nose. Rye is just hinted at in the finish. Soft and sweet, pleasant flavor but lacks depth.

Golden color with a small head. Malty, slightly skunky head. Sweet nose with a slight bit of hops. Sweetness lingers around. This is a pretty boring beer. Good for thirst quenching, but not much else going on.

Draught: Cavanaugh’s, Philadelphia PA. Very thin head that dissipates quickly. Very clear in the glass, and the colour is light amber. Aroma is fruity with a hint of citrus and little hops. Mouthfeel is light-bodied and refreshing, though not watery, with medium carbonation. Medium alcohol content.

Pours a pale golden color. The head dissipates quickly to a thin lace. Smells crisp, with a flowery grainy aroma. So this is what rye tastes like, eh? Nothing special in the flavor department, but it is, again, one of those decent summer "its freakin’ 95 degrees, I just picked up dog poop, mowed the lawn, burned myself with oil dripping out of my weedwhacker and I need something light, thirst quenching ....with rye in it" beer. Not bad.

On tap, golden with a small head. Taste was grainy with a hint of rye. Basically a pale lager with some rye added. Nothing special here.

12 oz. bottle from Safeway @ Lynnwood, WA. Pours a clear golden yellow with a very malty aroma. Light body for an ale, perfect for a warm evening like tonight.

12 oz bottle from Safeway, Port Angeles; Nose is spicy with light fruity esters; clear urine yellow with a medium yellowish head; flavor is lightly bitter with some light pepperiness. With the light bitterness would be a decnt lawnmower ale.
