Commercial Description:
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

Pours a golden color (surprise) with a small acidic head that dissapates quickly. Tastes like honey and rye. Not much to this beer as far as tastes goes but it is however refreshing.

Single bottle from Total Wine in Jacksonville, FL. Pours a pale gold with a small white head. Aroma is very light and taste is the same, with nothing too distinguishing about this beer. Average at best.

9/4/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is very light with a sour malt tone forward with rye being slightly evident. Appearance is very clear yellow with a low white head. Flavor is sour/sweet malt forward with light hop flora and med/high bittering. Texture is very light with a high carb bite. Overall, bright and refreshing but low on rye character.

Unremarkable aroma. Thin mouthfeel. Lager-like appearance ( a negative in my book). Tasted like honey most of the way down. Not at all what I was hoping for - the other "ryes" I have tried have had some bitterness or bite to them. Not this.

Bottle. Being a fan of "hoppy" beers as of late, this was not really to my taste. An abundance of malt, almost "too smooth" for me. It did have a good deal of flavour, just not the flavours I tend to prefer.

old rating 5/3/6/3/12 - 2.9 pours a very clear pale yellow with medium size white foamy head, and active carbonation, some lacing. smell is faint, grass, grain, malt, a touch of honey, and some citrus. taste is light, watery yet crisp, rye bread, honey, grain, malt, and a touch of citrus. really not much to it.

Bottle. Crisp, light golden color. Decent head with slight lacing. Sweet malty smell. Nice, clean refreshing taste. Nice carbonation. Very easy to drink. The finish is very unique: dry sweet finish of malt with a slight hint of grains.
