Commercial Description:
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

I did not care for this remix of the Sunrye brew offered on tap at the Redhook Brewery. I do prefer the extra flavors added by not filtering the ale, however I thought it was overhopped (as low as it may be) compared to its bottle brethren - it did have good hop flavor. In this form it no longer is the crisp, refreshing rye beer perfect for summer.

Sweet, malty - One of my favorite local beers -Very crisp and smooth. Not much flavor - a little too carbonated - A nice summer drink.

Beer is a light golden yellow color that has a small white head. Mild fruity aroma with some mild malt and yeast. Nice biscut type malt flavor with some mild fruitiness and just a touch of rye flavor in the finish. Hop flavors and bitterness are very low could’ve used a little more hop flavor. I would also like some more rye flavor coming through. It is a very easy and clean drinking beer that is good for these hot summer months. Overall a decent summer style ale that I will drink again.

Highlighted by water, this brew doesn’t quench or offer relief from the summer sun. Minimal rye palate with offensive corn taste and light body that makes me double-take this brew. Dissapointing.

From a twelve ounce bottle purchased at Krogers - This one pours a hazy yellow liquid with a very thin head of white foam and a light, malty aroma. Well, the taste does have a touch of rye to it, but its flavor is still very weak. It’ll not be a repeat buy.

Bottle. No discerning aroma save for a smidgeon of citrus. Not very peppy at all so I have no idea why the brewer describes this as "crisp." Smooth easy drinker, much like water. Nearly flavorless. Vague hop presence. Very disappointing in a non-offensive way. The most half-assed tasting brew I have encountered in a good while. Virtually featureless.

On tap at the brewery. Clear yellow. Typical macro yellow taste with a minimal hop finish. Thin body. "This brew was made for slaking summer thirsts." Yeah, so was water.

Bottle. Todd from the beer stand did me wrong on this one. Terrible. I was looking for a citrusy, wheaty aroma - what did I get - skunk? Clear golden appearance. No rye, no hops, no citrus. Totally uneventful. All in all a very bad beer.
