Commercial Description:
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

Bottle. Todd from the beer stand did me wrong on this one. Terrible. I was looking for a citrusy, wheaty aroma - what did I get - skunk? Clear golden appearance. No rye, no hops, no citrus. Totally uneventful. All in all a very bad beer.

12 oz bottle, Bullocks. light color, hazy. creamy texture for a summer ale. rye has no aroma for me. I do get a hint of lemon, no citrus. Must be from a lack of hops?

Not bad. Rye works alot like wheat, lending a zesty and lean malt profile. Lemony citrus notes, and floral hops give this some character. Light but not watery, it has a smooth palate and easy finish. I’d drink it again if I needed a light refreshing beer with character. Bright yellow golden with a small to medium head.

(Bottled on 04/19/2006) Light crisp and dry. Refreshing with not any hint of rye. My guess is 5% rye malt is used. Quenching enough to keep my interest.

Golden clear, small white head. Skunky aroma. Light body, light flavor would be okay unless it’s light and bad, this is.

Pale gold body with a very thin white head. Bad aroma, musky, cornish, too much rye... The taste isn’t much better, rather cornish again with some light yeast accents. Bland ending. Overall, rather typical of my experiences with Red Hook.
