Commercial Description:
Introducing Redhook Sunrye, a light, refreshing summer beer brewed with six barley malts, including a touch of organic rye. The opalescent golden color of Sunrye is a result of its unfiltered nature. Light and crisp, this brew was made for slaking summer thirsts.

a beer that one would want to drink on a hot summer day. Clean and malty with a small hint of citrus, omits an slightly unpleasant bitter.

Bottle: A cloudy golden color with virtually no head. Aromas are malty similar to a pilsener. Taste is heavy barley and wheat. I can’t tell if I can taste the touch of rye or not. The feel was thicker than I expected - it was actually pretty smooth and creamy. The aftertaste isn’t very pleasant - kind of an old shoe leather sensation with a bar of hand soap thrown in. I don’t think I can finish this one.

Golden color with no head or lacing. It had a semi-sweet aroma but was really light. Taste was weak and reminding me of bailing hay. Good summer beer; so is any other regular ale.

a decent lawnmower beer, but not even as good as their redhook blonde. overcarbonated, grassy. nothing special.

On tap - Clear golden straw, thin fizzy white head. Light fruity nose with hints of wheat, rye, and even lighter notes of nutty caramel (you really had to dig deep for any aroma at all). Bland fruity flavors with more wheat and rye (I guess). Watery, light bodied with fizzy carbonation. Seriously, I’d just assume have an ice water...

Strong malt aroma. The appearance is golden and hazy and almost ruined by all the sediment floating around. Not as sweet as I was expecting and hoping for but still a good taste. The flavor is dominated by the malt and is somewhat buttery. The hops are light and add a nice balance. Aftertaste is rather dry with a little hint of honey. All in all a great summer beer.

Very much a summer beer. Light and refreshing. Light aroma with just a touch of malt. It looks good, like a hefeweizen; cloudy with lots of suspended sediment. Flavor is very light, with little more than a hint of lemon. I wish it had more flavor.

Thin, medium golden color body. Grainy aroma with a sour flavor. Avoid if at all possible.
