| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 650 ml bottle. Pours a clear copper color with a thin, clingy beige head. Taste is of malt, caramel, toffee, hops, pine, resin, fruit and grapefruit. Similar aroma. Slightly bitter. Nice lingering aftertaste. Slightly slick body. Easy to drink, almost too easy. Nice to have on a cold day. Worth picking up again. Beerlando (2335), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Bomber. Pours mostly clear, dark coppery-red in color, with a moderate, foamy head of ivory tinted foam. Tall, cobweb-like ribbons of sticky lacing coat the glass well. The aroma shows darkly toasted toffee, caramel, brown sugar, and bread in the malt base. Sharp grapefruit and resinous pine lend ample hop fragrance, though it never quite catches up to the avalanche of malty sweetness. The flavor is a little more balanced, stikingly hoppy grapefruit rind and evergreen bitterness countering the sugary caramel and buttery, toasty toffee. A big, thick, sticky body sports moderate carbonation, finishing with clinging bitterness that lingers for minutes. It’s a solid, hoppy, American style barleywine reminiscent of Old Guardian. kiefdog (1606), Tampa, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Amber pour with weak odd chemical nose. The flavor was pretty tame...some sweetness with some pine like hop flavor. No off flavors and nothing to complain about. Just some mild caramel malt flavor with the aforementioned citrus/pine hop presence (not overly strong). If you like barleywines, go and pick one up. It’s easy drinking and unoffensive. It was a good time, even if it didn’t wow me terribly. FROTHINGSLOSH (2010), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a red-orange color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was light sweet candied fruits, fruity hops and a touch of caramel and nut. The flavor was sour and nutty with a fairly strong piney hop presence and a vague fruity hop undertone and hints of ginger, caramel and nut. Medium length bitter fruity finish. Moderately thick. Interesting but lacking oomph. craftycarl21 (560), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Light brown pour with orange tints, average off-white head. Aroma certainly lends itself to an American barleywine; orange, grapefruit, floral hops, some spice, and a bit of gready yeast. Some caramel malt and a bit of cashew is present as well. Flavor is quite intriguing; caramel, dark floral notes like pollen, and some definite booze presence. Sweetness comes in the form of candied sugars, along with the caramel. Palate has bitterness, along with sticky sweetness. Decent barleywine overall. oteyj (767), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Orange-brown pour with a half finger white head that fades rather quickly. Aroma is hop oriented for the style- lots of spicy hops, orange, flowers, and a mild resin quality certainly guard a more subtle bready caramel, nuttiness, and a nasal warming alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet- some warming toffee, caramel, nut, aged oxidized vegetables, and further hop manifestations. Palate is medium to full bodied, though a little light for the style, with mild effervescence and a warming alcohol character in the finish. mcox90 (639), Wilton, USA

Typical barleywine flavors, just a little lighter than some.
