egajdzis (3147), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 25, 2008 Poured a clear, red amber color with a small, off white head that left no lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, pine, and caramel malts. Taste of citrus fruits, cherry candy, caramel, with a bit of a tinny, alcoholic finish.
Sammy (3287), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 28, 2008 Trade with New Hampshire, one of the non-breakingbottles sent to NYC. 2007 edition. Pours medium amber with a bit of foam and minimal head. Good malty barley aroma, though sweet. Medium mouthfeel, nice barleywine not at peak and not young either. Quite drinkable. Bit sugary sweet aftertaste.
jwatkins56550 (3), USA does not count Nov 21, 2008 12 oz. bottle from a trade at Brawley’s Beverage in Charlotte NC, served in a Duvel Glass. Thanks Mike! Usually not big on barley wines, I find this one to be wonderful. Most of the ones I’ve had tend to be too big, and cloyingly sweet. Although similar to a west coast amber ale, this barely wine is tasty. It is very well balanced an hides the 9.8% alcohol well. Finishes dry with a good bit of residual sweetness but not cloying. No hop bite, smooth, and refreshing. Dangerously drinkable in colder weather, especially for a barely wine. lb4lb (1607), Austin, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle in trade courtesy of joepais (pastor). Thanks Joe!!

Pours semi rich amber with a light beige head. Smell is semi hoppy but balanced with nicel lightly sweet maltiness. Taste is fruity, bright and lightly sweet red fruits and a touch of balancing hops and some tea flavors as well. Bit drying, and medium bodied. Overall I thought it wasn’t bad, but didn’t blow me away. hopdog (4956), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 26, 2008 12oz bottle shared courtesy of Josh. Poured a medium and clear amber color with a small sized off white head. Aromas of citrus (oranges), nutty, dark fruits, and caramel.
