This beer was a very pleasant surprise and strikes me as being rather severely underrated on this site. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange-amber color with a large orange-cream head. The aroma was strong candied fruit, sugar and yeastiness with just a touch of alcohol showing through. The flavor was strongly sugar with candied fruits - apple, pineapple and pear predominantly and a moderate yeasty undertone with faint hints of pepper. The finish was long, fruity and yeasty. The mouthfeel was thick and full. A touch of alcohol shows through on the finish. Excellent.

Golden hue, medium head... very smooth with a flavor of banana and cloves... hides the alcohol very well in taste but more noticeable in smell as you finish a sip

Clear light amber with a white head. Nice fruity spicy yeasty candi sugar aromas. Medium body. Good candi sugar, earthy sweet malt flavors with some banana, clove and cinnamon in a warm finish. Reminiscent of their original Belgian style ale from days of yor, very good.

Pours a three finger white head that fades quickly to a ring layer leaving traces of lace. Crystal clear amber color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Light spicy nose. Flavor is sweet, dark fruits and warming. Hint of alcohol at finish. Bottled 5/21/09, the brewer suggests drinking this within a year. $7.50 for a 22oz bottle from Smiley’s Beverage Dover, NH.

Bottle. Poured with a nice orange-golden hue, shiny and still, yet with a formidable foam head. The aroma is of banana creme, expectant of a creamy delight. Although it’s not quite dessert-worthy, the beer still delivers -- tight with sharp yeasty goodness, a hint of spice, and a tickle of tropical fruit. (#3645, 8/19/2009)
