glkaiser (1029), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2008 WABF. Strong golden hue. Tastes of banana and light tropical fruit. Sweetness is kept in check. Bitterness comes through a bit much maybe. Very solid, but it’s like a "light" tripel. riversideAK (1956), Shoreline, Washington, USA Aug 11, 2008 Everything about this was average and generic. Golden color. Light spicy, banana, sweet candy aromas and flavor. A touch of alcohol. Well made, but extremely generic to me. Aroma – Strong Belgian yeast aroma. Fruit lingering and good malts.
Appearance – Orange/yellow in color, hazy with a thin head.
Flavor – Deep Belgian flavor with a good deep fruit yeast flavor.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This had a very nice flavor this was deep with yeast and not overpowering. Very nice.
Bradrcr (647), Renton, Washington, USA May 8, 2008 5/8/08 From the Fermentor. Aroma is spicy clove phenol forward with a hard to place mix of fruit dominated by banana; candilike with strong yeast character. Appearace is a hazy yellow orange with a fluffy white head. Flavor is more of the interesting fruitiness blended with malt and no bittering. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, warm and spritzy. Overall, a cool little brew that is easier drinking than most trippels and excellent phenolics.
