| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 3, 2008 12 oz. bottle, pours golden brown amber with a good foamy off-white head that fell apart and left a ring in the glass, good lacing with bubbles along the sides, aromas of toasted and some roasted malt with caramel sweetness, some chocolate and hints of dark cake mix, some citrus piney hops along with wood and faint earthy scents, cascade and Fuggle hops? Flavor of toasted malts and caramel, has a medium or less hop bitterness, a caramel sweetness is left on the tongue at the finish with some pine needles swimming about, ok mouth feel, could have been a little fuller to add to some oomph to this Winter warmer, I would recommend buying this. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 18, 2008 One bottle. Pours a medium golden amber color with small head. Notes of sweet caramel, malt, barley, and some hops. Flavor similar with added malty caramel that makes for a nice drink. GJF (512), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 15, 2008 A clear copper pour, carbonated but no real head. Not much aroma to speak of either. Decent flavor with a malty, warm finish, but not much character. Light hops, medium body, drinkable, but... junon (222), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 13, 2008 Poured a nice amber with lasting frothy head. Nice carbonation. Its a flavorful beer but it really doesnt seem "strong" to me. They really managed intentionally or not to mask most of the alcohol. Its really only in after taste does any of it hit you. I really didnt know too much about Redhook coming in and always passed it up but I am pleased so far. ryan (1781), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Clear amber body with a tiny off-white head. Lightly sweet, toasted nose with cracker, munich malt and caramel. The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly bitter with cracker, dough, caramel and herbal hops. Medium body is a bit thin with moderate, loose carbonation. ElGaucho56 (393), USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2008 Pours a nice copper-gold with quickly vanishing head, mild lacing, and very fine suspended sediment. Nose is mildly citrusy hops, biscuit malt, slight caramel sweetness. More of the same on the decent bodied palate, hops veering more towards grassy/herbal in the finish. Pretty easy drinking. Pinned this as a stronger ESB, seems mostly right. Not bad.
