The taste however was a bit lacking. Initially it was nice but the finish was bland and a bit metallic. Headbanger (1589), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Taste of this medium bodied brew is of malt and bitterness along with a dry back end but otherwise it is very bland. I was expecting more for a "winter’ beer. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Slightly cloudy amber color with a 1 cm light tan head that recedes quickly. Very light biscuity malt aroma, slight earthy hop twinge. Lightly carbonated. Pretty simple malt taste and small amount of hops on the finish. Kind of plain. BEERGUY007 (206), Scotia, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 27, 2008 12 ounce bottle from Glenville beverage. Very little head and almost no lace to speak of. Stored at 50 degrees and served at the same in an English pint. Body is clear, no particles, avergae malts and average hops. Although I read the comments below mine and foun dit interesting that that person thought that it almost crossed over into an ipa territory. Now that they said that I can see it. I agree. Light on the yeast. Palate is a three ok mouthfeel, medium body, maybe a little astringent. and a little bitter. Not a ton of flavor. It was ok, I probably wouldn’t buy it again, but would drink it if it were available. Not a bad beer, just would rather not pay money for it. oldpainless (35), fort mill, South Carolina, USA

It starts rather hoppy & does mellow quickly. To me it almost crosses over to IPA territory. So it may be a good starter for one looking to try something a bit more hoppy but, not so much so that it scares one away from moving foward to try other " hoppy" beers.
All in All..I would buy it again & found it to be okay. rodneykm (109), Westminster, South Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2008 12oz Bottle. Nose heavy on the grains, rough breads, and toast. Very malt based. Pours in clear copper, with a rocky soap of off-white moving down the glass fast. Flavor is a moderately sweet candied sugar, with some afterglow of orange rind, agave nectar, and caramel. Plenty of crystal malt here. Some Munich-like chewiness brings up the background. Hops lay low and develop bamboo affinity amongst the herbal qualities. Light esters and alcohols surprise. Clean, drinkable, with moderate flavor. Nothing to get all excited about. AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA
