Copper and plastic. Fruit cocktail syrup aftertaste. Unpleasant - not worth drinking. lweiberg (89), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 11, 2007 Definitely pine, slightly like Bell’s winter ale but generally nothing special, average, not worth more than $1.00 a bottle. rmussman (906), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 5, 2007 Another choice brew from Redhook. Poured from bottle it had a fair aroma and a nice head with a dark appearance. Mouthfeel is smooth and flavor is packed with spices and similar to the IPA. SledgeJr (3005), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 3, 2007 In the bottle from the Redhook sampler pack. This was the "seasonal" selection. Pours dark amber with a thin off white head. Mild hoppy aroma of subtle citrus. Flavor has a medium bitterness with a thin malt chocolate roastedness that only suggests holiday. A bit thin for this genre. BDR (2170), Roseville, Minnesota, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 27, 2007 Pours a deep copper body with timid carbonation under a skinny, tan head. A whiff of the aroma and... wow! Those folks up in WA really like to use their PNWs! Piney, to be sure. An additional roasted maltiness is heavy as well. Despite its appearance, the mouthfeel is a bit lively. Diverse flavor bounces from sweet to sour to bitter and back. Finishes with a lemon-pepper note. I suppose I enjoyed this, but it kinda confused me for a "Winter Ale". I guess it would be comprable to SNCA in that regard.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2007 A deep ruby-caramel pour with a middling cream head. Aroma may suffer as a result of a cold but it’s malty...chocolatey with little in the way of hop bouquet. Flavour has that graininess that seems to accompany black patent malt...it’s decent. Some hop in the taste, more than I would have expected given the lack of presence in the aroma. Again, this cold is impacting my rating but I think I’m being fair. I would order more of this, for sure.
