| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 14, 2005 Bottle poured a clear amber with a medium white head. Nutty aroma with some herbs and tea. Flavor is smoother than one would expect, malty and earthy. The taste is almost like a low-alcohol barleywine. Its okay, but not really what I was expecting from a winter brew. shanereid (75), Portsmouth, Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 13, 2005 Draft: Had a amber pour with a nice head. Though dissapated quickly for me. The aroma was very nice and smelled... wintery (not surprisingly). Taste was nice, but perhaps overstaying its winter name. tronraner (1934), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2005 Draught. Pours a clear, but kind of dark, brown with a small white head that doesn’t really fade and leaves excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet and piney. The flavor is much the same-- subtle earthy malt and piney hops. This kind of seemed like drinking a live Christmas tree. I can’t decide whether or not that is desirable. But it certainly isn’t a bad beer; I put down a pitcher of it with ease. Pailhead (2605), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 10, 2005 Bottle: Aroma is very roasty, nutty, and lightly floral. Pours a transparent garnet with a small off-white head. Flavor is very roasty and nutty up front with the slightest hints of chocolate in the background. Finishes moderately floral and lightly piney. Tastes more like a mediocre brown ale. TheBeerOrg (1586), Kentucky, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 10, 2005 Pours amber with a thin white head.Aroma is vinous, syrupy, spruce hops. I mean lots of hops everywhere. Taste is grapefruit, citrus, pine... Just about all hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with resinous hop oils and moderate carbonation. A rather fresh sample, only less than four weeks old. This tastes more like an IPA than anything else. This is good beer! IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 9, 2005 Poured a clear amber with a small fizzy off-white head. Aroma of hops, bubble gum, caramel, and a bit of grapes. Taste is light grapes, a bit of dry grassy hops, and lots of toffee. Clean but boring. OldGrowth (1432), North Carolina, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 9, 2005 Bottle, from Julio’s. Bottled 10/11/05. Ok nose, sweet, caramel, nutty, herbal tea. Clean brownish orange color (about as clear as a beer can get), small head that disappeared quickly. Sweet roasted flavors, like aroma with some grapefruit in there. Medium body, lite creamy mouthfeel (filtered to hell) Mild bitter finish. Hints of an IPA. With my best old man voice " I Remember when this was a hearty beer" now it’s just an average ale at best. I might of given it a given it a couple of points for memories sake. tennisjoel (951), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2005 This is okay... nothing out of the ordinary. Didn’t shout. Average, as the 50% suggests. Better than most macros. A very average beer.
