| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2005 A dark brown appearance with a reddish tint. A rather large beige head with some nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is chocolatey and herbal. I also get some cinammon and raisins. The flavor is gingerbread men, raisins, chocolate and sour grapes. The mouthfeel was somewhat thin but not too much so. Overall this was better than I expected from RedHook. bethmatt0421 (319), Covington, Kentucky, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2005 Aromas of spice, pines, and hops, which is pretty much the same in the flavor, only a little more pine in the flavor. A good winter ale, and another good red hook brew. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Clear brown with red highlights and a thin creamy tan head. Fairly hoppy aroma with some grass and spice and some toasted malt. Way hoppier in flavor than previous years. Relatively thin in body though and lacking malt flavor. theacelatrain (262), Washington DC, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Bottle. Pours very dark brown, and feels very smooth on the tongue. Mostly malty, maybe a little toasted dryness and a hint of root beer. Simple and boring. Hazmatt (363), Virginia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 23, 2005 Dark amber color with little to no head. Taste is malt with some a slight spicy character and somewhat of a hop finish. A good beer if somewhat average, I won’t go looking for this again, but it works in a pinch.
