Pour is a dark red with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy and very sweet. Flavor is burnt hops with a bitter aftertaste. Nice beer with a nice price.

Dark brown with ruby edges, pathetic fizzy, vanishing light tan head. The aroma is loaded with citursy and floral hops. Toasted bread and light sweetness. And finally some definte spiciness. The flavor is much like the aroma though much more boring. The palate is the killer, watery and tad slimy. Not awful just vey boring.

Very dark mahogoney color. Small light head with a mild hop aroma. Burnt flavor with a hint of nuttyness to it. Finishes with a bitter aftertaste.

Pours a good, long-lasting head. Hoppier than most winter ales. Not much complexity to the flavor but for the price it’s not a bad deal.

little head, easy on the palate with slightly bitter aftertone. i drink this often when its available because its satisfying and very reasonably priced

Dark amber, not much head. The hops are noticeable immediately, spicy, floral hops and plenty of them. Underneath the hops there is a mild sweetness with some roastiness, but it is dominated by the hops. Not bad, but not what I usually go for.

On tap at BW3. Not even close to being a conventional strong ale, but a valiant attempt - more of a Brown ale. Nice color and head, flavor has a subtle fruity undertone with a moderate malt backbone.

Tasted at Jan. KC Bier Meisters meeting. Dark amber red, off white head, nice lacing. Citrusy hops nose, also floral and spicy aromas. Hops driven flavor, spicy, floral notes. nice mouthfeel, "full" body. Dry finish, hops flavor.
