| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 22, 2005 Dark brown with ruby edges, pathetic fizzy, vanishing light tan head. The aroma is loaded with citursy and floral hops. Toasted bread and light sweetness. And finally some definte spiciness. The flavor is much like the aroma though much more boring. The palate is the killer, watery and tad slimy. Not awful just vey boring. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 27, 2005 Pours a good, long-lasting head. Hoppier than most winter ales. Not much complexity to the flavor but for the price it’s not a bad deal. timetrvlr (8), milford, Connecticut, USA does not count | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jan 27, 2005 little head, easy on the palate with slightly bitter aftertone. i drink this often when its available because its satisfying and very reasonably priced PattyBoy (302), North Liberty, Iowa, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 26, 2005 Dark amber, not much head. The hops are noticeable immediately, spicy, floral hops and plenty of them. Underneath the hops there is a mild sweetness with some roastiness, but it is dominated by the hops. Not bad, but not what I usually go for. sdcourtney (18), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 22, 2005 On tap at BW3. Not even close to being a conventional strong ale, but a valiant attempt - more of a Brown ale. Nice color and head, flavor has a subtle fruity undertone with a moderate malt backbone. csbosox (1081), Prairie Village, Kansas, USA
